According to Haverford Township police, the pickup truck traveled roughly a mile along West Chester Pike from the area of Darby Road toward Eagle Road, sideswiping approximately seven vehicles before eventually colliding with a U-Haul truck near the intersection with Eagle Road.
Police said the driver of the pickup truck may have been experiencing a medical emergency before the series of crashes began. Investigators are working to determine whether the suspected medical episode contributed to the collision.
Multiple Vehicles Involved in Crash
The incident unfolded as the pickup truck continued along West Chester Pike, striking or sideswiping several vehicles along the route.
The sequence ended when the truck crashed into a U-Haul near West Chester Pike and Eagle Road. The collision resulted in multiple injuries, and one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
